Polish cases will make me a head-case!!!

So I just got back from church where I realized after talking to one of my wonderful "loyal readers" that I have not posted anything in over a week. And the last post was about dogs, and I just think that probably doesn't count since people would probably prefer to watch paint dry than to hear about the minutiae of my dog obsession. I mean, I have a readership that I cannot let down!!!
So here is the latest news about the Polish move:

* John has been in touch with Agnieska, the woman who does HR in Poland and she will be looking into housing for us. There are many options. . .a flat in the center of town, walking distance to work or farther out of town in a house. She'll put together a list of possible places for John to look at when he goes through Poland on his way back from China. John will return to Texas August 31. Whoo-hoo!!! We are both so ready for this!!! Those of you who try to read his blog (no post in like three weeks!) know that he is not enjoying China as much as he was when we were there together. He's just ready to be home.

* I am plodding through my Polish lessons with some success. My teacher is very kind and makes me feel like I am doing better than I am. Let me tell you. . .if you think Spanish is bad with all the masculine/feminine/singular/plural just check out Polish!!! There are like a zillion cases for each noun and adjective based on how it is used in a sentence! We have learned just two cases (I think there are 7 or 9 total) and my head is totally spinning!!! On the upside, it's all starting to make more sense in general. We are going to trade Spanish lessons for Polish lessons for the next month or so. (My teacher will visit Poland next month, so I have to cram as much as I can in very quickly!!!)

* The dogs: I think we will be good to go to get them over there. I found a forum for expats in Poland and e-mailed with a guy who brought his dogs over last year. Hopefully it will be smooth. The pups have their new airline-specific carriers and are getting used to them.

* Everything else: It looks like we will move the second week of October. Before it gets really cold!!! Living in a place with snow and seasons is going to rock our world. Fortunately, John can get some great deals in Shanghai on cold-weather gear since it's like 100 F there all the time. I've been prodding him to blog about his latest shopping experience where he was told that they did not have size "small"--only "S", "M", or "L". Wacky stuff!!!

* Finally, I am trying to make up for lost time in my love affair with Dr. Pepper. None in China; none at all in Poland. You can hardly get the good stuff in a restaurant here in Texas (sacrilege!)! Anytime you feel the need for a fountain drink, just let me know and I'll go with you.

But enough rambling for now!!!!

More to come. . .
