Driving on the wrong side of the road

So here are some more picturs of Ireland. Perhaps not the most exciting . . . these are the views from the little "balcony" thing in our hotel room. One is of the "garden" in the middle of the courtyard and the other is the view of the rear of the reception area. It's really nice.

So today I drove on the wrong side of the road. It was pretty terrifying and exhilarating. I am meeting our realtor on Monday at a possible house www.daft.ie/230979 You can check it out if you are interested. It is in an area that is is northeast from where John works and also from Cork City Centre. The realtor gave me the "address"--there are really no street signs or addresses here in the sense we are used to--and was like "So I'll see you Monday at 10:45" !!! They give us way too much credit!!! So we had to try to find this place so I wouldn't be totally lost and miss the appointment. Long story short, we found the place and it looks really nice. It's in this story-book old village that we can't wait to get some pictures/video of. It's just amazing!!! you enter into the village from the freeway through this little valley with an estuary that is just gorgeous!!! All the trees have that fall look about them and they are incredible!!!
But the driving on the wrong side. . . I survived. Only started out in one roundabout the wrong way. The hardest thing is remembering to drive on the left when you're in a parking lot. Basically, I did okay. The lanes are SUPER narrow. We went down one street that only had one lane but was meant for two cars to travel down so every time you had oncoming traffic, someone had to drive up onto a sidewalk. But that's just the way people drive, so they're all used to it!
Tomorrow John has his first American football practice, so that should be pretty exciting! I'm sure we'll have more stories after that!
Things we have noticed: The Irish dress up a lot! We have had a black-tie affair or wedding or something every night we have been here at the hotel. Today we saw an incredibly beautiful bride out in the lobby. Pretty cool!!! As we've been eating out every night (blah!!! I just want to cook) we have seen a lot. .. tonight there was a large table of girls in prom-like dresses. Wild!!!
More adventures to come. . .
