Floppy Friday

So I am kind of failing miserably at "willing myself well" from this cold. Things are better, I guess, but I am just ready to not have the latest and greatest strain of Irish cooties.

Seriously, people, I am tired of blowing my nose, breathing through my mouth, and hocking up impressive loogies (one this morning was so good I really wanted to save it to show John when he got home, but I realized it would dry up and lose some of its "glory" by then).

I've tried the Vicks Vaporub, but it just made my newly sensitive chest and throat skin break out. Eeew, gross! Huffing Vicks just hasn't worked, either. Perhaps the Irish formula is weaker than the US version.

Last night I realized that if I was incredibly still and did not move or talk, then I felt better. This works fine except that when there's another human being in close quarters, he expects at least a little interaction from his semi-comatose, mouth-breathing wife.

Not that mouth-breathing in itself is all that bad; it just sucks to wake up and your face looks like the Crypt Keeper.

So today I am taking. it. easy. For example, I can sit in bed and read. Knitting? No chance--waaay to strenuous. All that thinking and counting and throwing the yarn, etc. No way.

I drug myself downstairs to check the daily blogs and comment and read some stupid news in the paper. And use the tea kettle as a vaporizer. Again.

But enough of a downer. I'm trying to keep this short. And at least I didn't wake up with snakes in my house like Mark did. Just, eeeeew.

I mean, in general, things have been really good. I mean, I found two slightly used Jodi Picoult novels for 1.50Euro each last week in a resale shop. Talk about a good deal!

And there's plenty of other great stuff happening. I am just too tired to really mention it all right now. Maybe tomorrow will be "Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy Saturday", and I'll have more to write about.

Now I'm going to lumber back upstairs to be floppy again.

Have a great weekend and appreciate that you can breathe easily!!!

I have used more Kleenex in the last 3 months than I think I have in the rest of my life! I just hope that when summer hits, it will help and I won't be this stuffy.

Dear sabrina. heheh I read this post as I went through my 10th tissue for the morning and commented to Mr Moi, "Oh, I'm just sooo... stuffed up!" And I thought I'd gotten over it this time a week ago. Hope you feel better soon.

My midwife laughed when I told her I have been pregnant in my nose all along. She did not laugh when I kept asking her what drugs I could take to start breathing again.
It Sat AM now and I can breathe and got at least 4 hours of sleep, so that counts as feeling much, much better! Yippee!!
Hope you both are feeling great soon!
