Weight Watcher's Wine and some other stuff. . .

So yesterday was John's birthday, and I wanted to pick up a bottle of wine to help celebrate a little bit. I couldn't help but notice that there was Weight Watcher's Wine for sale at our Super Valu. ??? Really? Both red and white varietals. . .
I Googled it and didn't find much other than you can also purchase it at Tesco (link above). I was just a little shocked that Weight Watchers sells wine. Of course, since my wine consumption is greatly diminished, I was not wasting my precious sips on somethingg that was reduced-calorie. I ended up with a South African Sauvignon Blanc that was good but a little too sweet for my taste.

I wanted to post my current "procrastination knitting" project. I picked up a kit almost two weeks ago for a baby hat, booties, and mitts and here is what I have so far. The pattern is Patons, which I always find more complicated than necessary, but it is not too difficult. Of course, you knit everything as a weird block and then sew up the back seam which just looks kind of janky in real life. It's not "real" knitting, but at least the pictures look good.

And if you are wondering what happened to the beautiful pink blanket that was in my last knitting blog two weeks ago. . .well, it's still in my knitting bag, but I have not so much as knit one stitch since the post. It has been really exhausting to knit and I want to use all of my new-found-second-trimester energy for more important things like working out. I can always knit when I balloon up more and don't have as much energy.

Finally, yes, this is what you think it is. It is a vaporiser. No, it's certainly not the humidifier I want, but it will do to try to help clear up our recent colds and coughs. I'm still on the trail for a nice way to increase the humidity in our room at night to try to combat being sick all the time. Any good suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

THe hat and booties (or mitts - I wasn't sure) look great. What do you mean it's not real knitting? I am still working on my baby hat. I got mixed up and not I think I need to get Suzanne to help me again. Oh well.

I hope you can figure something out for the humidifier. We have one going in our bedroom every night. We wake up and it feels so stuffy, but I think it's helping my stuffy nose/dry throat.

Miss you!

That knitting is great. I only ever tried to knit once, a scarf that varied in lenght as i dropped or picked up stiches, (I was six at the time)!

I love the hat and booties!

Sorry you've been feeling bad, sweets. Have you tried the sudafed plugins?

Dear sabrina. May your rooms be a little less dry. Not sure how else you can make the house moist - leave the shower running? Plug an element in in your room and keep a pot of water bubbling away? No seriously. What about pot plants? Might they help? I don't know about these things. I grew up in a place like yours - hot, humid, no real winter, never owned a heater.

Stiggs: I can't wait to see this baby hat. I wish Suzanne would finish my Fair Isle blanket for me. She'd have it done in a week. I'm now stalking you for your humidifier!
Beccy: I'm impressed that you were knitting at six! Took me 21 more years to settle down enough to try it. .
Jenny: You are too sweet. I have some leads on improving the breathing situation. I don't even know if they sell Sudafed here. ..
LMM: I'm seriously considering running the tea kettle in the bedroom several times a night. Actually, I've heard of "radiator humidifiers" that are ceramic basins you hang on the radiator that might work. All I have to do is find them. . .hahahahahahahah

WHAT!!!? Weight Watchers sells wine? You've got to be kidding me. That is hilarious.

Cute hat and booties - I can't knit a stitch, so I am impressed. I do crochet and when I was pregnant with my daughter I thought I'd crochet a cute baby blanket for her. 3 1/2 years later it is still sitting 1/2 finished in a bag in the closet.

diet wine. that sounds worse than diet root beer.

Oh, and growing up in boston, i learned a few jokes that might help endear you to the locals.

Q: what's irish and stays outside all night?
A: Paddy O'furnaure

then theres one about a texan and an irish guy on a plane thats crashing, and the punch line is remember the alamo, and somethig about parachutes, but i really dont remember it.

Anyway, good luck with that.

Karmyn: I'm not sure how much more knitting I will finish and how much will end up in the closet, but right now I have high hopes. Some day I will try the Weight Watchers wine, just for giggles
Bones: Thanks for the jokes. Texan plus Irish is kind of a lethal combo.
