Can I get some more seach options, please, ITunes?

I've found that the "best" thing to do when you are frantically busy and have no time to waste is. . .
opening the ITunes program.
This is guaranteed to waste at least two hours of your time. At least.
Maybe it will need to "update" or, better yet, "update" your IPod, so you shave off even more precious time.

Usually it is a complete time-suck, but sometimes you get a real gem of a find.

You see, I love music. Or, I used to love music, and I used to be really into it. Especially when I lived in Austin and listened to KGSR. It's not just a station; it's practically a religion.

I sometimes hear a song on the radio and don't know the title or artist but a lyric will get in my head and it can stay there for years until I can find "THE SONG."

Tonight, I found one of those songs. . .

I was updating my IPod before our trip and noticed that ITunes was recommending a song by Reckless Kelly (one of the bands I used to go see and listen to a lot), so I clicked on the link and it somehow led me to the song "1952 Vincent Black Lightning." Whoah.

Double whoah.

I've heard this song on the radio once, and it haunted me. I heard Guy Forsyth sing it once at a local show and was totally entranced. Basically, this song gets me in the gut.

The version I found is sung by Richard Thompson. You can have a little listen to 1952 VBL here. Scroll down a bit--it's there. So I'm learning that this dude is an "iconic British folk rock legend." You all probably know this dude backwards and forwards. I'm just thrilled to have MY SONG.

So back up to my title for this post. . .would it KILL ITunes to have a "search by lyrics" option? There's one alt/Texas/Austin country song that I found once, didn't download (what the hell was I thinking???) wrote the title and artist on some scrap of paper that I threw away probably because of Willowtree's "Your Blog Space" Fun Monday post (not blaming you, dude, but I'm frustrated!).

I know the artist has one of those "three name names" but he's not Chris Le Doux. The only lyric I remember now (baby is seriously compromising my brain cells) is something about a "moment" (maybe a moment with you?) and "your pretty little feet." If you know THE SONG, please let me know as I would love to resolve this mystery.

By the way, I'm seeing that Amy Whitehouse is now like #1 on ITunes. Hello, people, that was SOOOO December 2006 out here. I was so sick of that "Rehab" song. . .now I get to hear it all over again when I move back to the States. Oh, joy.

*******UPDATE*********
Thank you, Aimee, for finding THE SONG. It's "Never is a Moment" by Jimmy LeFave from his "TexOma" (born in TX, raised in OK) album. Such a great song! You can have a listen here. ITunes only has some "with strings" version that is not the best, but I'm downloading it this time so I don't spend another coupla years trying to find it!!! Thanks, Stiggs!!!

Huh? How did I get dragged into this? And what exactly does "Your Blog Space" Fun Monday post mean? Enquiring minds want to know.

PS. I had a go at finding the song, but there's just not enough info, sorry.

one more thing, almost half of my music DVDs are 'Live from Austin Texas' you know, with the city lights in the background. I'm so jealous.

I just went and listened to Richard Thompson, boy that's some guitar player. There were quite a few Vincents, Ariels and Nortons around when I rode bikes (I had a BSA).

I am cracking up! Sorry, can't help you on the song...maybe if you had more lyrics...

I hear ya on the States being behind on music. For once in my life I am COOL with my teenage nieces - I know hot new music before they do! Redemption!

WT: I was just trying to rile you up. That Austin music rocks, yo.
LMM: It's a secret code. So secret that neither one of us knows. . .
CC: It's great to be ahead of our time for a change!!! Here's to hip-ness!

I know what you mean about fuzzy baby brain. I did a search with the lyrics and came across a song titled Never is a Moment by Jimmy LaFave. I think he is the writer not the singer though. But check it out at http://www.johnpointer.com/multimedia.php

Who knows?!?!

Dear sabrina. WT is stirring you up. I just went and checked and he WAS the one who did the 'your blogging space' fun monday post. Perhaps he's just overcome with the emotion of ANZAC Day today. (ANZAC is an acronym: Australia and New Zealand Army Corps).
