CRAWLING

I think REM said it best when they sang:
"It's the end of the world as we know it
And I feel fine"

Except that I don't really feel fine. I feel a lot of anxiety that my little baby. My tiny infant. My bouncing baby boy. . .is totally growing up.

Yup. And he's crawling. All over the place. I am chasing this kid to Tumbuktu and back every day. It's a great weight-loss strategy.

And I am thrilled for him for his new-found independence. Sad that he is already cutting his ties to Mommy. Exhilirated at his braveness and confidence.

Seriously. He pulls up on stuff and just. . . LETS. . . GO. . . It is truly amazing the trust the kid has. Either he's not worried about falling or he knows we will be there to catch him.

To watch him explore with such wonder is truly amazing. It's why I stay at home. I could just follow after him all day with every type of recording device possible trying to capture these moments forever and that still would not grasp everything. Oh wait. I already do chase after him all day with the camera and video recorder.

Because he is so darn cute! He started "dancing" last week whenever he hears music or he hears an audience clapping or we "cheer" for him because he did yet another cute thing.

I'm shocked by the pride I feel in each of his accomplishments and milestones. Not because of any "my kid's better than yours" but just an innocent sense of amazement and wonder and all the great stuff he is doing and learning every day.

Being a mom is the greatest. It's a tough job, but I love it. And I am so blessed every day by my little guy.

Sniff. Sniff. Getting a little choked up here. Just. . .talk amongst yourselves. . ..

Go, Zane, Go!
It is the BEST thing when I come home from work and Rylee drops what he is doing and HAULS to the door, arms outreached and wraps himself around my legs. I LOVE being a Mommy.

You've definitely had one of those "AHA!" moments that you only figure out after the baby comes!

Yeah Zane! Now it is time to baby proof to waist level! ha ha

I recall that feeling "how can anything so perfect have come from me"
