The things they don't tell you about becoming a mother. . .

In the last few weeks, Zane has been fine-tuning the art of the pincer grasp---where he can pick up something between his thumb and pointer finger.
All the books and websites talk about this as some great developmental thing. Now he's really ready for finger foods!!! Making strides toward feeding himself!!! A milestone!!! Better eye-hand coordination!!! Yadda. Yadda. Yadda.
What these sources NEGLECT to mention is that as this skill develops, so does baby's ability to PINCH THE S*** out of you. Makes me wonder what else "they" have left out.

Yeah, this little guy. "Who, me?" He seems to say. "Pinch you?" Umm. . .. yeah. And he's laughing all the way to the bank on this one. Thinks it's freakin' hilarious. Especially the skin on my throat. And the backs of my arms. And my sides. Oh, and Blanco's ears.

I HAVE BRUISES, PEOPLE!!!

So I thought it was pretty appropriate that Robin, the Pensieve One commented on my last post by saying she wanted to just pinch little Z. BRING IT ON! I'm all about some retribution.

No, not really. I would never wish any pain or discomfort on my child.

Just that he would stop pinchin' me!

And this is a pic of Zane eating some dinner last night. Peas (we like to eat peas, if you please) and blueberries (he likes the way they squish when he chomps on them--makes him giggle) among his regular fare of Puffs, Cheerios, and Goldfish. No spoons in sight make Z a very happy baby.

He He He! Bailey like to pinch my boob! Not Cool!!! But I do love that she can pick up her Puffs or other food on her own. It does seem like a milestone - plus, now I don't have a million little bits on my floor.

Z is such cutie. I love the pics on your ShutterFly. The ones of him pulling up on everything are adorable - and scary! I think I'm glad that Bay is still contained!

Oh come on...how could that adorable creature hurt you???

(Okay, yes, I sympathize...tremendously :) And it doesn't get any better as they age...Little Man head-butted me the other day in the face...and now I have a fat lip.)
