Today the blog turns two. . .
When I started all this, the DH was moving to Shanghai for the summer. The dogs were my babies. I was planning a return to the classroom to teach junior high Spanish (and, yes, I was very excited about it!). And I had just started my addiction to taking pictures.
After posting in China and Ireland and, of course, Texas, I am back where I started.
It's changed faces and names, from "Sabrina's Adventures in . . . " to "Sabrina's Adventures Un-Corked" to "Just Flossing" (which my DH hates).
I'm feeling some growing pains with the blog. I'm concerned about safety and security now that I have a kid and random people can wander onto the site. I'm feeling the need for some new digs, but I just don't know what I want out of blogging. Sometimes I feel like I want to be big-time like all those Blog-Her chicks. Then I realize I'm not funny and too sleep-deprived to create coherent prose regularly. Which brings me back to the beginning. . .
It all started to keep in touch with family and friends while we were away. Actually, it really started because my DH started a blog and I was keeping up with the Joneses.
I'm itching for a new look and probably a new location.
If I go will you follow? I'll leave a trail of crumbs, I promise. Probably Oreos, if you're good.

Dear Sabrina. Wow, orange! Happy second birthday mr/s blog (is your blog a boy or a girl?)!
You know, you can disable the google search stuff so your blog doesn't get picked up, just us loyal fans can follow. Personally, I was freaked out by the security, especially living in a different country, hence why I've always used the pseudonym. I think it can make the blog more fun to play around with too - a bit like getting into character.
I am really loving wordpress - their templates are great. They don't have a great storage capacity for photos (you have to pay extra), so I feed them in from my flickr.
Can you see the cheapskate in me coming out? ;)
Don't give up blogging, I really like your posts, even if sometimes I just read through my reader rather than visiting and commenting.
Ohhhh, the terrible twos! I understand about wanting to move - I actaully have a blog on WP, but I don't really use it. (It's only open to me right now)
I'm with LMM about turning off the Google search thing. It just depends on what you want. Bigtime or not.
Well now...as a blog designer, I have to say, let me know if you want a pro to do a new look:)
As a blogger, I know what you mean. It's weird that anyone can read your blog and, it's hard to find your niche. I read so many blogs that make me think "why can't I do that?". Happy two blog:)
Leave the cookies and I will follow. Please know that your mommy humor gets me every time! I love keeping up with you this way and I aspire to one day get into blogging..... maybe.....
anyhow, leave the cookies and this friend will follow! Have a fantastic day!!!!
Cindy
Oh heck yeah - I'd be happy to follow :) (So don't quit!)
congratulations on 2 years.
Whatever you do, do it for you, and no other reason.
Er, I'm some random who stumbled on your blog. I was going to creep off secretly but reading this post made me feel I ought to confess and apologise! And to say it's a great blog, and you are funny. As a Lost fan I love your summary post. Brilliant. Incidentally I'm sure I saw Sayid working in Tesco in Dundee.
But I respect your issue with security. As a mum I have these thoughts too, but I do want "strangers" to read, so I keep the kids anonymous and don't post close up photos of them. But if that's what you enjoy doing, I see your problem.
I'm rambling now. Sorry.
Incidentally, if you want to avoid passing traffic you need to lose that wonderful blog title, which is what attracted my attention!
