Hey, Nap! Where ya been?

Oh, my, what a week.
I haven't blogged since Monday and for my sanity, this is one of those "let me bore you with the minutiae of my life" posts. Sorry, but I just need to recap.

Monday: sick. Lunch and visit with my MIL. Very fun for Zane. Napped with Z for first time since he was an infant. DELIGHTFUL! Thank goodness I savored it--naps have been insane since.
Also picked up Z's 1-year portrait from a local department store studio. There were BLURRY and GRAINY and absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. But, as the DH says: "You get what you pay for." Except that we've gone every month since he was born for a portrait and ONLY his 12-mo pics were AWFUL. Um. . .kinda important, folks. Still trying to get some recourse on that. Maybe I'll post later about how I'M TOO DAMN NICE.

Tuesday: Ran two grueling, hot, snotty miles. Lunch with my Dad. Z loves Grandpa. Very cute. On the phone with the department store photo studio. No help. Worked on my super-secret-sewing project that I will post about later. Much later. Went to the splash park with Z for the first time with J & C. Found out our girl Shurl went into labor. Waited to hear if she had a boy or girl. After splash park, in lieu of napping, Z screamed for two hours. Struggled to tidy up house before hosting playgroup tomorrow. Tired.

Wednesday: Was this only yesterday? Why do I not remember it??
Oh, yes. . .found our Shirley had a boy. He's gorgeous. And BIG. Makes my ovaries hurt. Makes me want to have another baby RIGHT NOW!!!!! Went to buy a gift with J & C as soon as stores opened. Rushed home in time for playgroup. One mom came. Great to chat and have the kids play without the chaos. But, seriously, this is a trend, and I am trying not to take it seriously. Z took a 30 minute morning nap (whatevs!!!). Screamed a lot until I realized he would ONLY take his nap if he was laying across my throat (??) and mostly choking me. I could only handle about 30 minutes of this. More screaming. Cooked excellent spaghetti sauce using elk meat the DH ground up this weekend. (Yes, we still have some elk left--but not much!!!)

Thursday: Dog escaped into neighbor's yard through hole in fence. Couldn't figure out how to get back into our yard. Almost began discussion of fence repair with the barky-dog-neighbor-woman but didn't feel up to it. Ran another hot two miles. Z managed to throw everything out of the stroller he could. Several times. Causing me to have to stop and start. A lot. Not fun with a running stroller. Cut my losses and gave up trying to get him down for a morning nap before we left to teach yoga. Fell asleep immediately in the car. Woke up as soon as we got to the studio (20 min). I was teaching Mommy and Me yoga sans baby-wrangler and we had the most packed yet. Z screamed all through breathing and meditation. *sigh* Other moms stressed that their kids (well-behaved) were stressing other moms (not the case, but whatevs). Survived! Visited my awesome midwife and her new (2 mo old) baby. Good visit. Now Z is finally taking a nap. I am pooped. Trying to make sense of a week that makes no sense.

Are you still reading this? Oh my, I am so dull.
I haven't even picked up my camera this week. ??? Crazy stuff. And it's hot. Real hot.

Good news from the week:
Praise God that Z was not devoured by ants that were swarming on a tree he was playing by (and his mother was too out of it to notice until he was done playing there. ..)
I finally managed to get my GPS watch thingy to work to record my runs (no problem with the watch, I just never remember to turn it on)
Miraculous, beautiful birth of another baby in our neighborhood!
Wonderful, supportive husband under sixteen tons of stress at work.
Going to meet Aimee for girl time tomorrow. Yay!

I hope to have something more interesting to post soon. Or at least time to post. Or maybe some pics. Just hoping!!!

Whew, that made me tired just reading it! Can't wait to see you tomorrow. Maybe we can snap a few good pics of the kids.
