Get LOST

Yeah, this is my third post of the day. I realize that. And somehow today has completely slipped away. It's already 3PM and I am practically in my pjs. Don't hate the player, hate the game, okay?

So in my Monday tidbits I forgot to mention our new theme song for living in Ireland. It is "Get Your Fleece On", sung to the Missy Elliott super-hit, "Get Your Freak On." Sorry, couldn't find an audio clip of that. Getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha fleece on. . ..

And, of course, I felt the need to delve into last night's (yeah, I know you all watch it sometime early in the week over there) episode of LOST.

I don't care how far-out or cheezy you think this show is. I LOVE the funky name references (philosophers Locke, Hume, Rousseau, and then there's Homer's Penelope (I'm not talking about the Simpson's here, people!), etc. etc.). And I love the whole good and evil, the island is part of a bigger plan stuff. I love clever. I'm a sucker for clever.

So I totally LOVED the latest episode. Okay, so it doesn't help that Desmond David Hume is one of my favorite characters. I think he only rates in John's top-ten characters, but he's high in my top five with Sayeed. Sayeed rocks--we need more of him and his back-story!

But back to Desmond. This guy is so the most tortured soul on the island. I totally dig him and his cool phrases ("See you in another lifetime, brotha" just for starters) and the accent, et. al. And the awesome heroic sailing voyage to win favor with the gods and return to his true love. Total classics reference here. And super romantic to boot!

So this last episode explains why Des can now foretell the future and we all start to think that Claire is going to die when, YIKES!, not Claire, but Charlie's life is the one he keeps trying to save! Charlie is NOT one of my fave characters, and I find his little heroin-addicted arse just really annoying! (Tangent)

But then it's almost like we're watching The Matrix with the. . .oh, what's her name???The Oracle. . . who tells the future, etc. From the jewelry store lady, we learn that LOST is all about the struggle between predestiny and free will. Oooh! And guess what always wins out?

Dang, I bet that cricket bat to the head REALLY hurt, Des!!!

So now I can't wait until the next episode, and I promise I will not "review" each episode like this. It was just totally awesome with the Desmond-ness of it all that I couldn't resist! I love a good back story episode! Keep on truckin', LOST! Just a few more seasons until we understand it all. . ..yeah, right!
