Favorite day of the week. ..

Thursday, by a long shot.
I can't explain exactly why. Enjoying Thursday is a feeling like how October is my favorite month. It often goes by completely unnoticed and unappreciated, but it's still my favorite.
Maybe because Thursday is so close to Friday. Once you get through it, then you coast on into the weekend. Because, I mean, it's not like I ever taught on Fridays. That was "Finding Nemo" day. Seriously, people. . .
More likely, Thursday always seemed to be the "we're tired of cooking let's go out to eat Mexican food" day.
"Thursday" was always a fun day to teach because in Spanish is it "jueves" which is close to "juevos" which most teenage boys snicker about because they think they are saying a bad word. Eggs, kids. Come on. At least in my classroom. They would have learned the really bad words if they only payed attention to me and Barts (shout out!) gossiping about them at the doorways between our classrooms.
Thursday means you've soared past hump day (belly button day, right!) and you're close enough to the weekend to smell it.
So today I thought I'd give a cheer for my favorite day of the week. Hooray!

PS: Neither Barts nor I are/were the truly bad teachers I portray here. Or at least she's not. And, yes, you honestly can incorporate most animated films into any curriculum. Trust me on this one.

I shall always cherish Thursdays due to my college days - Thursday was Raggae night at my favorite bar.

I prefer Fridays, no college for Joules, no activities for the children, no homework and major family chill time!

I HEART Thursdays as well. And it is totally accurate to say that any Disney-esque movie can be educational. Hey - they have some sort of moral in there!!!!

Many years ago (UK) when a lot of people were paid cash 'in a little brown envelopes' it was always a Thursday so this was a day to look forward to.

Dear sabrina. I totally agree. You can get a bit of weekend fun on Thursday, because Fridays are more relaxed anyway.

PS are you back in Ireland with your pooches yet?? If so, welcome home, if not, travel safe!
