This is when timing is everything. . . .two weeks from now I would have access to EVERYTHING, including the 7th grade yearbook photo with the braces and the perm AND the
big bangs that still haunts me to this day.(Un)fortunately, all I had on the laptop were a few cycling photos that document my helmet hair.
Since I didn't go digital until right before we were married, and our cycling tapered off quickly thereafter, I didn't have much to choose from.
And the hair really wasn't that bad.
So since I don't have a really bad hair pic, you get me in spandex, too (frightening).
This is one of the (very few) rides we did before doing the MS 150 2004 on our tandem. We didn't do a lot of training, and especially on a tandem, that's not such a good idea since things get hilly once you get north of Houston. (Okay, okay, not hilly like Everest, but more than a gentle slope down the sea level like we're used to). This ride was the Pedal Through the Pines in Beautiful Bastrop State Park. DH and I had camped at the park with my FIL and BIL and we all enjoyed the ride. I think we did 50 miles that d
ay but I forgot to put on sunscreen and it got hot and the rest stops ran out of water and I got sunburned. Oh well. . .I promise when I get back to the States I will post my 7th grade yearbook picture just to make up for things. Shudder. It's really bad. ..

gosh I admire your cycling, especially in tandem. But I would admire even more your 7th grade hair pics - can't wait to see them!
NIANATHB: Admire the husband's cycling skills. He's on the front and does the bulk of the work.
Edward De Bono would be proud. You were faced with the dilemma of wanting to participate in Fun Monday but didn't have the requisite picture, so in a stunning example of Lateral Thinking you went with a Bad nosehair day. Well done!
I love Barstop! When I wanted a day off in college, I used to drive out there with just a sandwich and a sketchbook.
Not bad hair at all.
Ah...seventh grade might be possibly the highpoint of everyone's hair days. The secret is to destroy the pictures. But, I guess that you would not want to destroy your seventh grade yearbook. Biking in tandem is very cool.
As I was digging through pictures last night I wished I had my 7th grade picture. Its a doozy. I have a 7th grade son and you just couldn't PAY me to be that age again.
Congrats on the new baby and good luck on your trip back home!
Wow, I always dreamed on going on a tandem and you've done it, I'm well impressed!
We'll hold you to those 7th grade photos!
Tandem riding looks fun, embee always said I wouldn't like it because I would not be in control!!
I agree with the others we still need to see those 7th grade hair photos sometime in the future
Moving back to your Mother Country and having a baby are NOT excuses for not posting your 7th grade photos! That must be #1 on your agenda...unpacking will get done eventually ;).
I see WT mentioned the nostril shot, lol. He did so much more eloquently than I could have.
For the record, you look pretty h.a.w.t. in spandex...so does your dh :).
WT: Glad you enjoyed the nose shot!
Min: Bastrop is gorgeous!! Will be enjoying it again soon!
MJD: 7th grade was pretty bad. . .but it keeps me humble
Gina: thanks a lot! i hear you about that being a tough time!
Beccy: you'll see them soon!
ChrisB: I honestly think a tandem bike should come with free marital counseling. It's hard to give up control and a lot of trust issues come up!
Robin: Thanks, chica! My pics WILL be my #1 post when we return.
Nothing like bad helmet hair....except for 7th grade hair. I forgot about that. I actually had a "tail" back then. Remember those?
Love the pics - can't wait to see the 7th grade one.
Do you think you will do much more tandem cycling after KidZilla?
Karmyn: No you didn't! I totally remember those! Awesome!!!!
Stiggs: One of my students (I grew up with her older sister) brought that yearbook to my classroom one day a few years ago--AWFUL!!!! We haven't been on the tandem much in the last year+. It will be a while before we are back on the bike after the kiddo other than around the neighborhood. (Remember, I'm not telling you my horror stories about cycling until Greg stops riding years from now!!!!
Willowtree said exactly what I was thinking... ha ha. Even though I didn't see any nose hairs, I pretended...........
Dear sabrina. Oooohhhh stretchy clothes. You're much much braver than me! But you're also much skinnier too!
That's a madly cool bike! I just know myself -- I will never have enough coordination to be able to successfully tandem bike with someone haha!
Pamela: I don't see any nose hairs, either, but I like to pretend. That makes the picture so much better. Maybe WT will photoshop it for me!
LMM: I figured since the hair was not that bad, I could embarass myself a little with the stretchy clothes!
PB: Just get someone stronger than you and hold on! The pedals don't move independently on this type of tandem, so you just go along for the ride!
