Just killin' time post. . .

So today I really want to do a post about baby stuff. Mostly because I never post about that, and I really think I should pay more attention to the munchkin. At least on the blog--I have no choice but to pay attention when a foot or whatever gets wedged up in my ribs.

I'm heading in to my GP in a few minutes to have my 28+ week appointment, so I guess I can have "more" to report when I'm done with that. I'm sure you're just dying to know what KidZilla's heart rate is. . .(that's about all I get each visit, which is exciting and special in itself, but not too thrilling unless you're me or my DH or a grammy-to-be).

So here's where we stand on things right now. . ,

  • No news on moving back home. I expected this, so it's not a big surprise. We have less than three weeks now until we want to return, so I know it will get (very, VERY) busy at the end. I'm just in a holding pattern right now, trying to stay calm about everything.
  • Blanco and Tex have completely settled in. I don't remember cleaning up after them being this challenging before, but it certainly takes more time now!
  • Two very industrious birds picked our yard completely clean of puppy snow (see two posts down) to make a very nice nest for themselves. I was pretty shocked and delighted that they used all the stuff and that I didn't have to clean it up.
  • My DH's football career is really on the line this time. . .last night he came home from practice and "really messed up" his shoulder. Much worse than the chumming fishing boat incident a few years ago. He may not even play in the big game this weekend. Very sad, as he has only had a few months back in the pads and has been enjoying hitting the crap out of people so much. . .
  • Thank goodness for the blistering Texas heat. Due to airline embargos for transporting animals when the weather at destination is forecast to be 85 degrees Farhrenheit or above, we are left with *one* option for getting the dogs back. (Unless we want to risk flying them when the average temps are in the 80s--like from 15 April on out.) Guess which one options we are left with? Give up? If you said "the most expensive one", then you are correct. Fortunately, the women who work for the cargo company I'll have to use are very nice and prompt about responding.

Well, that's about all I have time for right now! I'm looking forward to my appointment (LOVE my GP) and then I have a lunch date with Chica #1. Chica #2 has family in town, so I hope to visit with her soon.

More to come. . .

I would hate the thought of having to organise getting the dogs back to Texas when you've only just got them here.

Any chances that the company will tell your husband that he doesn't have to move at the last minute?

Poor dogs - my dad lived overseas for many years and his 2 cats and dog survived about 5 different flights from the U.S. to Middle East to Turkey and back. (but afterwards, the cats HATED the carriers - would fight tooth and nail to get in)

Dear sabrina. Hope the visit went OK. When I was doing the washing up, I was thinking (as one does) that you will be rather silent in the weeks of and just after KidZilla is born. So you'll have to prime DH to post pics and news of the bub for us! Just getting the word in now - nothing like planning! Too bad about his shoulder, yowch.

I want to hear about Kidzilla! I can't to catch up on all the daily oddities of being pregnant. I'm so glad we are Belly Buddies!

Miss you!

Beccy: I thought it was going to be easier than the way over, but there are new snags daily
Karmyn: we just want some, any communication from the company at this point! Surprisingly, the dogs still really like their crates! Hopefully they still will after the next journey
LMM: I will work on the training--good point! Yeah, the shoulder is a real bummer. . .
ChrisB: the pooches understood it all; they are fluent in many languages
Aimee: will post ASAP!
