Happy Easter!!! What a glorious day! He is risen! Rejoice!!! Easter is just such an amazing holiday! Hope everyone is enjoying it!
Just an update: if you have not been reading the blog for a few days, WE'RE COMING HOME. See you in a few weeks in Pearland. This time you will not find me drinking the red sauce at Don Picos as it causes painful and embarrassing swelling!
So this weekend has been rather low-key for us, which is nice, considering we will be moving into hyperdrive in the next couple of weeks making arrangements to move back, switch doctors (yes, Jillian, I think I'm going to try to get in with you and Jessica's doc), move the dogs-ahem-again, and try to enjoy this most absolutely glorious weather we are having.
Tomorrow we are planning a full day of driving to make our way out to the ring of Kerry. Hopefully not too many tourists yet, although we know to expect crowds.
But today's post is a puppy post. I promise to upload more pup pics on the Shutterfly site soon. I've just been lazy. . ..like Tex. . .

After a full day (24 hours) of travelling in this stinkin' box earlier in the week, you would have thought he'd had enough of it. Guess since it's big enough to fit the Taj Majal, he doesn't mind it a bit. This is where Tex has been passed out all afternoon. His morning was very busy with a full schedule of being brushed, chasing Jurassic-size bumblebees, trying to make sweet-talk with the neighbor's dog and getting the cold shoulder (DH and I were apparently "salting his game"), and barking at our other (human) neighbor who is equally disappointed that DH's project is shut down as he was taking classes to start work there in the pharmaceutical industry. sigh.
One of the things we have missed about having dogs is that they are a full-on Kitchen Canine Clean-up Crew. Well, at least Blanco is. It's nice now that we can just direct him toward any spills or crumbs and voila! the mess is gone! We hire him out cheap. He also runs a special on stripping linoleum from the floor, but that's a tale for another day. . .
One of things we have not missed about having dogs is the dog hair. If you take a look below, you can see that it is "snowing" puppy fluff in our back yard.
This is just one of many of the fluffs that has come off Tex. Yeah, it's about that time for him to blow his undercoat, and while it's nice that he doesn't look all mangy and patchy while he does it, he is losing tons of hair all over the place.

To try to improve the situation, we've been brushing both of them outside daily for about a half hour each. This is what our backyard looks like now, covered up in puppy snow. . .

There's more, but I wasn't sure if this would gross people out. It is kind of gross, except that I'm just happy this hair is outside instead of inside.
Seriously, you can brush Tex for an hour and still get loads of hair off him. Fortunately, he LOVES to be brushed! He sees you with the undercoat rake in your hand and he's all smiles and waggy tail and itchin' to get out the back door. He really smiles when you are brushing him.
Blanco, too, but he's so clingy and weird, that he gets a strange, serial-killer look about him when you are brushing that is somewhat disturbing. Trust me, we love him, but he's a little freaky at times. . .
So that's all I've got for today. . . More cute pup pics and hopefully some tourist shots to come!

I remember drivivg the ring of Kerry at seven months pregnant, not a pleasant experience for me as I get travel sick!
Hope you enjoy it and looking forward to seeing the photos.
The dogs must be in heaven to be back with you guys. I am sure they are enjoying the cooler weather - although it was down right cold here this weekend. No joke - it was 48 when I woke up today!!! Oh well. Happy Easter!
Well - the birds will probably like to use that dog hair for some nesting material. (at least, they should).
Beccy: bleh. . I hate carsickness! hopefully all will go well!
Stiggs: surprisingly, the dogs are not cold at all--they keep shedding! Happy Easter--hope you stayed warm and dry!
Karmyn: That's exactly why my DH would not let me pick up the fluffs to throw them away! (They are starting to blow into neighbors' yards, which I think is inconsiderate--but think of the birds!!!!)
I've been told that vacuuming them works ( it was probably a joke I took seriously) but don't worry I never tried it when we had our collie.
Chris: The dogs know what we would like to do with them with the vacuum and stay clear of it. It would be nice if we could get them to sit still!
