Betrayal

Let me get one thing straight: Blanco is MY BOY.
He's my sensitive, neurotic pooch who runs to hide behind my legs when Tex/my DH/the boogeyman/a bird/a noise is coming after him. I have way too much patience for this dog and his nuttiness, but HE. LOVES. ME. Period. End of story.
Until now.
Traitor.

Yes, you see him here enjoying an after-work beer with my DH (notice the Texas brand loyalty here? You're just lucky it's not a Lone Star. Yum.) He's sitting on a bar stool like one of the guys.
Whilst cooking dinner with two dogs underfoot-ahem-I accidentally stepped on Blanco's paw. He squealed like a pig and ran around for the protection of my DH. Protection from me. Like I'm the bad guy. For the rest of the evening he tucked tail and ran when he saw me.
Because I stepped on his foot.
Once.
Forget about who feeds him.
And takes him out at 4AM. Or 2AM or 20 minutes before the alarm is set to go off.
And makes sure he has all his medicines so he doesn't get sick.
And fights for him to get to be an inside dog.
And lets him bark his silly little head off all the time.
And lets him on the couch for a cuddle.
Nope. I was public enemy numero uno because of one misstep.
MyDH finally told me to just feed him some spaghetti sauce to let it all work over. He was right. Now we're buds again.
For now.
Traitor.

So for part II of the relaxed Dublin adventures: Here I am with my token pint of Guinness at the Guinness Storehouse. I always thought I hated the dark brew, but it is actually very good and tasty. No, I didn't drink the whole pint--this is my DH's--but I certainly wanted to. I had a Coke. Yes, with caffeine.
Yet more proof for future parent-teacher conferences as to why KidZilla is hell on wheels.

1) Gosh you're stinkin' adorable :).

2) Cute boys in the pics ;).

3) Our poocharina, Aussie, had a tick on her eyelid Saturday; I pulled it off (YIKES!). She didn't yelp, she just ran away from me, and wouldn't get within 10 feet of me for a day! She'd wag when I called her, she looked like she wanted to, but nope, wouldn't get close...because I HURT HER :(. Because she NEEDED me to :(.

Just wait til you have to do something like that for your kids...you'll finally believe the words "this hurts me more than it hurts you"...:/.

btw, a little caffeine...and alcohol...sure didn't hurt my kids!

Too funny about Blanco...pets can be so fickle.

Didn't you love the view from the Guinness brewery? That was worth the tour.

PS - glad you made it home safely!

Ohh that picture is sooo cute. I'm not a fan of the 'black stuff' except to use in cooking 'beef and guiness' yummy

Dear sabrina. That's a great photo! I love it. The boys (I think blanco is a boy?) both look so serious.

I still kinda want to steal Blanco. He is one of the only dogs I have ever really bonded with. I love that he is not too big and not too small.

You look so rosy cheeked in the pic - I hope it's the hormones and not the pint of beer!!!!
