My second grade teacher made it very clear to me that I. Am. Not. Creative. (thanks, public schools. Oh, and, Mom, don't freak out--I turned out okay.) So I really don't have much to offer. . .but. . .
Two Christmases ago my husband challenged me that if I started learning to knit a scarf, I would never finish. Just to show that smarty pants who's boss and that, yes, I can finish something I've started, I learned how to knit, finished the stupid scarf, and embarked on a journey of a thousand skeins. . .
My "pride and joy" is this blanket:
Here's another view. . .
Was this a difficult project to knit? Nope. Technical? Nuh-uh.It just took forever.
Seriously. I knit some days until I thought I would puke. Who knew knitting can induce nausea?
But it was cast off before my rockin' friend Stephanie had her baby, so that's all that mattered.
Looking forward to checking out other people's crafts today!
Oh, and check back later when I've posted about my rockin' birthday!

Great job. I do not know how to knit. I doubt I would ever be able to learn how.
Good luck on the little one on the way. :)
It's beautiful!! [and I too thought of the 'term' artsy fartsy!]
Hey, you're having a birthday!!! High 5---have a great celebration!!!
My crafty side has been shared.
Cool blanket!!
I am jealous at how welll you knot now. I still stick to the basics. I am too scared to vebture too far out into the realm of switching yarn and cables, etc. Oh well!
That's great...now do one for the baby! Love it!
That is such a pretty blanket it was well worth taking up the knitting challenge!!
Beautiful blanket, love the colors! And of course big birthday wishes to you as well :o)
OOH! I like that very much! Beautiful.
You should make another one for yours - but, if it gives you nausea to knit, I suppose that's a bad idea.
It's gorgeous!
what Jenny said, and I thought that before I read her comment.
The colors are irresistible.
How come for some reason I can't help thinking about 10 pin bowling?
That's a really beautiful and unusual pattern. I love it.
That is really beautiful!
I love the colors. Your blanket is beautiful.
From,
A public school teacher...
I am sorry. I could not resist. Your blanket is lovely as well as creative.
Very cool. I get nausea if I force myself to quilt too long, too. ;)
I wish I could knit! Looks great!
Very Nice!
I LOVE the colors! Beautiful afghan!
Dear sabrina. Beautiful blanket. I know you're crafty - after all, you've been showing us all the groovy stuff you've been knitting for ages... Question. Can you teach yourself to knit from a book? That's the only resource I have available to me here in kyiv.. no helpful mummy!
