2: We took KidZilla to church for the first time yesterday. Very successful. He slept through the whole thing with a minimum of peeps. But any time he did peep people all whipped their heads around to stare as if expecting (and really, really wanting) some sort of meltdown to transcend. No such luck. We did get to hear this absolutely fabulous young Christian rock/contemporary band that was playing during our service (very random but not unusual for our church). 30 Coin Ransom . A nice group of rockin' Aggie boys that you would want your daughter to date. Wow, these guys really rocked and had such a great message. I cried. And it was not just the hormones, I promise.
3. I took the Z-Man on our first solo outing together yesterday--to the grocery store. Wow, that was a huge thing to do the first time out with him alone, but it went great. AND I brought my OWN BAGS. I went through three sackers before the cashier chipped in and we finally got all the groceries bagged and in the cart. Funny how they drop like flies when they see me coming. One girl offered to go collect the carts in the 100 degree heat to avoid bagging me. Oh well! Gotta teach the kid about being good to the earth!
4. I was reminded today that I have no idea who is reading the blog. We got a gift for Zane from some friends we lost touch with in the last few years in the mail with a note that said they Googled us (whoah, that's such a cool feeling to know you've been Googled by someone other than yourself) and caught up on the blog. Shout out, Dana and Nicky!! Thank you for the gift and we miss you and promise to be better about staying in touch. Aside from being great people, we were also featured in the Houston Chronicle on the same day--completely unrelated stuff. I was in the Hoff's feature and Dana was buying booze and got quoted (think it was New Year's but the old brain ain't tickin' so well these days)
5. Here's THE BOSS all prim in his pram. What do you notice? How super-cute he is? Or perhaps that he is already almost TOO LONG to fit in the pram. Yeah, he's three weeks old, people. And this weekend we packed up all of the newborn and 0-3 month size clothes. Yup, he's wearing 3 month stuff already. And some of that is tight. I hope he stays long and is a tall kid! But whatever happens happens!
6. I complained to my DH that there are NO PHOTOS of me with my son. People comment after looking at Shutterfly saying that only Daddy holds the Z. So here is a pic that will teach me to keep my mouth shut. This was the best photo my DH took. Z was fussy and my hair is a wreck. Not to mention that I am wearing cut off sweat pants with a button-down shirt. Sigh.
7. I realize that I have spent an inordinate amount of time both on and off the blog about my weight and fitting back into my pre-baby clothes. I feel vain and guilty about this. Honestly, I truly believe that the post-baby body is our TRUE body. I mean, we're capable of having these amazing babies and who would expect to snap back to the pre baby six pack and slim hips after being stretched out for 9 months. You get your real shape after you have a baby. I just happen to wish that shape fit back into my closet full of cute clothes. Seriously, I am not buying new clothes. I will fit back into them. I just feel guilty that I am so obsessed with that and not spending all of my energy enjoying my fantastic little son. Well, I'm not feeling too guilty. I mean, I don't want to carry around this spare ass forever. Seriously, I don't even like to look at what's going on back there even out of the corner of my eye. . .like two pigs fighting under a blanket back there. . .8. Another shout out to Jan for cooking the most amazing ham ever. And I must get the recipe for crunch salad. I am totally blowing my Weight Watcher's points today but it is worth it!!! Yum!!!
9. I haven't mentioned it yet, but my DH is absolutely awesome and a great daddy. Just wanted to make sure you all knew that.
10. I miss commenting and reading other blogs, but I'm doing what I can right now. That's not a milestone, but I was so close to "ten" that I wanted to round it off.
Well, that's all I have right now. Can you all believe Zane will be a month old on Saturday? Of course, we can't remember back to the "time before the baby" so we feel like we've had him forever. I can't wait for our next appointment to see how much bigger he has gotten! More to come. . .

I'd consider going to church if I could sleep all the way through the service.
Ah, the first outing...I think mine was to the doctor's office. All I can remember is panicking the entire time that I didn't put him into the car seat correctly...ah, new motherhood!
Hey - I've given you an award! Stop by my blog to pick it up :o)
Hi Sabrina havent checked your blog in a while, its great to hear how well you are all doing and Z is sooo cute. The first outing I remember too, mine was around to our local supermarket - a five min drive and I felt like I was going on a 2 hour one, checking if I had everythingk awkwardly putting the baby in and out of the car seat, all the people around!!!
Seriously though - do not be stressing about your weight, it will come off in time (look at me), I dont know if you are bfeeding but if you are you needntbe on a weightwatchers points system at all...you need all the calories you can get. Give it another 2 months and then see how you are doing (that's the end of me being bossy)!! take care Mary
Wow what a long post. I finally sat down to write mine and it was still kinda short. I want us to get together soon! Let's plan something.
Oh - forgot to mention - you should put a link to your mention is THe Chron. I couldn't find it for some reason. Okay- I didn't look very hard. i had a crying baby at the time!
It's great to see how you're finding family life, Zane is gorgeous as well as a bit of a whopper.
WT: Ours certainly is not a snoozing church!
CC: Thank you, chica!!!! I like the new site!!!
Mary: the Weight Watchers is actually getting me to eat the things I need to be eating (veg, protein, fruit) instead of the things I am craving (pizza, mexican food, etc)
Stiggs: YAY! SAHMs rule!!!! So excited for you!!
Beccy: thank you so much!!! we are enjoying him so much!
looking at you holding him made me want to come smell him.
I love the sweet smell of a fat little powdered up baby. And I love the little sounds they make - like when they suck on their fists ---
awwwww... nostalgia
My middle daughter is due in a week or so - but she was having some signs today that may mean it wil be early. boy? girl? don't know yet.
That was a great post (loved the supermarket visit LOL)- Zane is a real cutie and what are you feeding him ' miracle grow'! From the photo he does look like he's going to be tall.
Pamela: If they could package and sell new baby smell, it would be the next greatest invention. Will pray for your daughter--how exciting!
ChrisB: Thank you! "Miracle Grow" I love it!!! Must be--he is 22 inches long now!!!
