My son is afraid of the dark.
Has been since we brought him home the night of his birth and we attempted to sleep in the dark, foolish parents that we are.
I find this very strange since he spent the last nine months or so in, well, a rather dark place.
But my little guy is attracted to light like a Junebug.
And now our home is lit up like a firecracker at night with a slew of night lights.
At least there's less chance of tripping over a dog/rocking chair/random object on the floor while walking across the house to change a nappy.
We've adjusted to this new sleeping arrangement surprisingly well.
It's just funny. He can be sound asleep (like he was last night) and if we mistakenly turn off the lights--that's it!--he's awake and he's not happy about it.
So here's to sleeping lightly in a well-lit room. But at least we're sleeping!

That is too funny! Is he in the same room with you? He looks so big. Too cute.
hmm. have you thought about trying a rheostat? every night (or couple of nights) when you put him down, turn it down just a little more than you did the night before...
slow adjustments over time...
Isa: Of course he is!!! Can't wait for you to meet him!!!
PAH: I have never heard of a rheostat, but the light really does not bother us. It's just funny that he doesn't like the dark.
