So my husband really is a fantastic daddy.
Yeah, I'm sure lots of wives *say* this and don't really mean it. But I do. He's really awesome. And helpful. And very capable with helping out around the house. The man cleans better than I do. Seriously, we should have had a baby a long time ago--the house has never looked better.
But, anyway. . . with anything new there is a learning curve.
I will never forget a few months ago when my DH was looking at something (I think he Googled "punk baby clothes" or something like that) on the computer and phonetically sounded out the word "onesie". "ONE-ESS-EEE". I thought I would die laughing. Now, he's an expert baby dresser (getting an octopus into an eight-armed straight-jacket) and knows all about gowns and rompers and sleepers, etc.
We've been talking about whether or not to give Z a pacifier. For me, this means copious "research"; consulting all my Dr. Sears books, some slightly less extreme resources, and my neighbor Jillian to find some middle ground. Basically, I think Z is just a serious eater. Come on, the kid GAINED almost a pound and GREW half an inch in the first two weeks. He's a monster--the kid's gotta eat to keep up his size!!!
Anyway. . . the whole point of this is not whether or not he needs a paci. The point is that my DH and I are having conversations about pacifiers these days.
And my husband said "binky". (Actually, he typed it in our e-mail continuation of the binky conversation this morning, post information-gathering.)
The idea of my man's man husband incorporating the word "binky" into his vocabulary totally cracks me up. Seriously.
I can't wait for what's next!

binky was a brand name maaaaaany years ago. Thats why so many people call it that.
when my kids were little the "nuk" made a big splash. So we either said, where's the binky or where's the nuk.
good husband. keep him
