Listography

I was surprised by the response to last week's list post about movies. But I have to admit an error: My DH says there is a very, very big difference between the five "best movies" and the five movies you'd want to have on a deserted island. Something about porn, I think, but also irony. For example: you might think "Cast Away" is one of the best movies ever. Would you want this movie with you on a deserted island? Probably not.

So here's today's list: BEST THINGS SINCE BABY

1. Closed captioning. The only way we get to watch television or DVDs without El Senor Distracto (aka Z-man) from trying to nurse and watch the flashy lights at the same time. Ouch. Also, the only way my "not hard of hearing at all" (ahem) husband can watch TV while the baby sleeps anywhere in the house.

2. Dogs. Ceaseless entertainment when rocking/singing/the booby/carrying/swinging fail--the pup-pups save the day.

3. Autofill. For trying to do stuff on the computer while holding and/or nursing a baby.

4. Diet Dr. Pepper. It's better than the real stuff. Seriously. Less guilt. And it's the only way I make it through the afternoons.

5. Christmas. I mean, just LOOK at this picture? It doesn't get any better than this!!!

Happy Holidays, y'all!

PS: Holy S***!!! I actually posted! Z is napping IN HIS CRIB and has been there for over an hour! I got so much stuff done I just don't know what to do with myself!!! Hallelujah!!!!

Wowzers! Napping - Crib - Over an hour!!! That's something to celebrate! Bay is not at all happy about naps anymore. I'm hoping it's just teething. Yup, blaming it on teething!

OOOoooo, I'm always quick to answer the question about my favorite Christmas carol; it's rare for me to make a decision so quickly AND to choose only one answer: "O Holy Night". :)

We have the book mentioned at the top of your post, too...it's one of my children's favorites.
