It's too dark and shadowy. And it's not quite right--you can't tell if he's got on seersucker shorts or pants (shorts, btw). And, ahem, the PLAYGROUND in the background doesn't a fantastic picture make. But this is about the best we did yesterday after three tries and over 200 photos.
Still in search of the perfect Easter card.
I'll have to settle for what I got.
Which was not necessarily a great photo but some good life lessons in motherhood.
For example:
1. Just because the weather and light finally agree and the park is dry enough, this DOES NOT MEAN your child will cooperate for taking pictures.
2. If at first (and second) you don't succeed with a fussy child, CUT YOUR LOSSES and DO NOT attempt to get him all dressed in his Easter outfit a THIRD time to try to get a picture. They just keep getting worse.
3. Reading up on photography and what to do is all well and good. Unfortunately when trying to chase around a baby who is trying to eat grass/dirt/bees your brain is fried and all the stuff you just learned runs out of your ear.
4. Not getting the PERFECT Easter photo (after three or four sessions) is NOT the end of the world and does NOT make me a bad mother in itself.
5. Quantity does not always guarantee quality. Even one or two.
6. The computer is guaranteed to run out of memory TODAY when the kid is really fussy and won't let you scramble to free up some space to be able to tinker with at least one or two of the better bad photos.
7. Worrying about this picture will SO not even be on my radar in a few weeks/months/years when we start dealing with actually important stuff
Anyway. . .if you want to look at a lot of bad pics, check out my Shutterfly site for the latest (and hopefully last) installment of "in search of the perfect Easter picture".
Ugggggghhhhh. I just realized we still need to get in with the Easter Bunny at the frikkin' mall .

He's sooooo cute and I can totally tell he's wearing seercucker shorts! ADORABLE! But I agree with your lessons. We need to get together and take more pics!
What a cutie! My suggestion, and sad that we wont be doing it this year, try the bunny at the church breakfast... always the same bunny, I KNOW that they clean the suit and not too many people waiting, plus they feed you while you wait! It is neat to see Duncan through the years with the same bunny! have a great one!
