So our neighbors are putting in a pool this summer. Actually, they are not putting in a pool--a company is doing it, but whatever.
Anyway. . . the pool will sit on the other side of our fence right by Zane's room. I have been concerned that all the construction is going to totally ruin any napping or nap schedule completely.
Today was our first taste of the major construction.
At 6:50AM they ripped out the fence and started hauling heavy equipment into their back yard. I think there's a backhoe and two big dirt moving things that bring what they dig out and dump it in the two dump trucks in front of our neighbor's house right now.
So after we got back from DPS getting my new license (don't ask--I'll post about that later) Z had fallen asleep in the carrier and I gingerly got him and the carrier (yes, that is about 35 lbs, people!!!) into his room so he could continue his nap. Normally he will humor me for about five minutes before he wakes up.
And with all the commotion of the dirt being hauled along side the house I thought a nap would be completely out of the question. I mean, all the equipment is literally making the foundation to our house shake.
So I turned on the monitor and hoped for the best. . .
An hour later, he is still sleeping.
Can I hire these guys to come back every day during nap time?
Perhaps the "white noise" of the machinery is just the right pitch/tone/whatever. I'm going to have to actually wake up my kid to feed him before we head out to teach yoga.
???
!!!
?!?!?!
Anyway. . .
I have to take a sec to send a big welcome across the pond to Stockholm's newest resident! My buddy, Liz, from college had her baby earlier this month and I'm just waiting to hear all the details!!! So happy all is well with you all!
Oh, and as for my Wordless Wednesday. . .yes, I'm running in a 5K this Saturday. Normally, a fun-run wouldn't warrant a mention but since this is my first one since having this kiddo I am pretty excited. I'm just excited not to feel like a big giant lump. Yay for running!
Okay, now seriously, I have to wake up my kid so we can get going.
Thank you, Mr. Backhoe man! See you tomorrow, right?

noise becomes him apparently.
I think my kids slept through anything, except me closing the back door trying to sneak out.
