Here are some highlights:
- After thoughtful consideration and help from my generous readers, it's official! Zane is WALKING!
- Z started pointing at what he wants. Pros and cons to this. Pros--somewhat less guesswork. Cons--everything he wants is at least 6 feet high. My arms are tired from overhead pressing my 22 lb munchkin.
- He is finally starting to show interest in books, other than to chew on them. This is extremely exciting as my DH and I are voracious readers. Z still seems very annoyed by books' two dimensionality. He likes the pictures but wants to grab the images. Hmm. . .
- Z identified some words outside of their normal context. Example: "cheese". I was reading him a book and there were some mice eating cheese. At the speaking of this word he looked at me and was all: "Whatchu talkin' 'bout, woman? There ain't no cheese 'cuz I'd be EATIN' it if'n there were!!!" Truly, his mother's son.
- A MILESTONE if I've ever seen one: Z SAT STILL in my lap for TWENTY-SEVEN minutes as we watched the Baby Einstein Lullaby DVD. Whah? Is this what it is like to have a calm child? I was astounded. BTW, that video is soooooooo hypnotic. yoooou are getting veeeery sleeeepy. . .With subliminal messages! PUT YOUR TOYS AWAY BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEEP. . .. .And the "repeat play" function on the DVD really scares me. Why enable parents to be bad parents? Anyway. .. tangent!
- Teeth! The bottom two are fully in and moving on up. His top right has broken through and another bottom right starting peeking through today. This poor kid!!! He won't let me peek, but I think the top left is coming in and the bottom left is already a white bump. Owie!!!
Now hopefully I can upload some pics and hop on over to Karmyn before he wakes up. . .

WooHoo milestones! Cheese and books. That's all I need to get through a day! I am glad Z is lulled by the video.

And you know what - sometimes those Einstein videos were LIFE SAVERS for me...when I just needed 20 minutes to fix dinner for example.
Of course, I only had the VHS tapes with my first (and wasn't going to buy them on DVD with my 2nd)...so there was no such thing as repeat play.
Dear sabrina. I remember this garfield comic I read once, where Garfield saw a pic of lasagne and ate it, then he said "Hmm that was good". Then he spat out the staples and said, "Pity about the staples though".
Wouldn't it be good if we could eat piccies. mmmmmm.

Hugs to Zane and his mommy. He is becoming a big boy so fast! This blog is so great. You are so lucky to be documenting it all. It goes by too fast.
