Actually, I am quite terrified of Photoshop for some reason.
This is strange because I somewhat begged for this as a gift from my husband.
Seriously, I've opened the program maybe six times since we purchased it in March.
Mostly, I just don't know what to do. Which pictures do I use? Where do I start? I just don't have a good sense of what I think is a "good" photo. When it comes to my photos, that is. (I'm plenty opinionated when I look at other peoples'.)
Anyway. . .my good friend Aimee was showcasing some of her mad PS skillz on her blog (private, bummer, so no linky-loo for you) and that motivated me to tinker with a pic I took the other day with the wrong white balance setting. I didn't trash it for some reason. . .
And with a little help from Scott Kelby's elements book, I turned it into this:
They're both a little "wonky" but I really like how the second one turned out.I'm not sure you can get that all-sparkly-cool-eye-effect thing that most people like so much with brown eyes. Looks great for blue but not much difference here.
I even experimented with LAYERS! Ta-daa! Wow, I am so basic. Come on board the Photoshop short bus.
I didn't "learn" anything. . . I just flipped through the book and applied some techniques willy-nilly. But at least I'm tinkering! And getting over my fear of Photoshop!

Dear Sabrina. I'm the same - I have photo shop elements and haven't been bothered to open it yet. Just seems tooooo... big!
Don't you just love Kelby's book?! My hubby bought it for me a while back...and it's already lovingly dog-eared and filled with notes :)
