I just might make it!

So I'm posting right now while the kid sleeps and we are skipping swim lessons.
Seriously, I had to cut my losses today.
Nap time and swim time just can't coexist, and I NEED playgroup today so I was not going to miss it for swim. I need it. Like a drug. I NEED my adult contact, people. I LOVE my Wednesday playgroupies AND we're going to find out if our newest member--arriving end of November--is a boy or girl.
But back to swim time and naptime and the rift in the universe their non-co-existence has created this week. . .so most moms love swim because it makes for some great naps. We've had the opposite experience. Not that it hasn't worn Z out; he just isn't taking the appropriate naps NOR is he sleeping well at night. At all. No way. Sigh. Poor kid, I think he's getting more teeth.
I knew we were in for it yesterday when he threw a fit at the park. WTF? My kid LOVES the park. Seriously, it was the calm before the storm. Because he threw an even bigger fit at the pool. Um, ex-squeeze me? That just. does. not. happen.
So I scooped him up and we headed home. Where he took a record-long nap. And he was still tired so he went to bed merely two hours later.
???
That's one tired kid.
So this morning, we are napping. So I can go to playgroup. I mean, so he can get sufficient sleep for his growing body and mind. Yeah, whatever.
So mostly, I'm posting today so you can see my cutie patootie with one of his newest tricks.
He's learned to put things in the filter/skimmer at the pool. So here he is putting the splash ball in its appropriate place. So cute!

As for his other tricks:

* I asked him where his shoes were and he went to them (they were in plain sight)

* Daddy asked him for kisses last night AND HE KISSED HIM. Sweetest damn thing you've ever seen

* He knows what "splash" means and loves to splash whenever you say it

Can this kid get any more loveable? I THINK NOT! He's the best! Yay!
