Rainy Monday

So I've finally taken a moment to return to the blog. . It's raining outside--great!!!--and we've been on the go, so here's the update!!
Saturday we went down to San Luis Pass to do some fishing. It rained on us driving down there and poured on the way back, but we didn't have any rain while we were fishing. Here's a not very flattering pic of my trying to catch something big (or at least not a piggy perch or hardhead). I caught a ton of baitfish and then learned how to throw the cast net. It was pretty fun and nice and overcast. We left them biting, but did not catch anything big enough to bring home to eat!!!

Yesterday we had a busy morning and then an adventure at the flea market on 35 near Beltway 8. We've always driven by and observed the crazy traffic and all of the chihuahua puppies for sale, and I figured that after China, I could handle anything. And I was right!!! The "Pulga" was a whole lot of fun with just about anything you could want or need. Plants, food, tools, flooring, jewelry, herbal medicine--everything was there!!! Our goal was to find the weirdest thing we could, but we soon realized that would be too difficult of a task--there were just so many different, strange things!!! John was most impressed by the variety of items and the fact that were were, honestly, the only non-Hispanic people there. I just enjoyed taking it all in. We even saw some "Pastor Aleman" puppies--German Shepherds (or "chepards" as the sign said). I got a kick out of the name being translated.

Today I've been running around--got a manicure and pedicure at the Art Nails by Bushi Ban. Best quality I've had ever! Very nice ladies, and a very clean place! Highly recommended!

My intention in blogging today was to put up more pictures of our town in Poland, so I'll get to that ASAP!
