Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
At least consider it?
So my neighbor with the award-winning lawn is moving closer to her daughter and her triplet grandsons and their 6-year-old chess-master brother up in Bellaire, so her house is on the market. I guess I could link it, but then you would know where my neighbor lives and try to steal stuff from her. She's got some cool stuff, so I would understand. Thus, no link.
Anyway. . . my day started with going out to get the newspaper with Tex as is our normal routine. Sue, my neighbor, and her fella, Pat, were out in the driveway looking up into her big palm tree and asked me if we had lost a parakeet. Nope. But we've seen the blue and white cutie that has been in the yards lately. Somehow this led to a tour of Sue's house at 6:30AM in my pajamas. Let me tell you, it was not pretty. The pajamas, that is. Her house is beautiful. And very reasonably priced. And 4-bedroom. Stiggs, I'm serious, you and Greg should consider this. . .
But the rest of the day was great. I went to an awesome yoga class--thank you, Valerie!--and had lunch with Jillian across the street at Double Dave's. YUM!!! PIZZA! I have been craving it!
And then Anna and her cutie-patootie little girl, Grace, came over and we visited and I got to see what life with a 1+ year old is like (awesome--she's so much fun!). And now I'm blogging some boring stuff that will get you all yawning.
This weekend Min asked about the baby's room, and since we are now officially done with it, I guess I will post some pictures. ..the colors are weird and splotchy in places. I'm sure this has nothing to do with the paint job I did a few summers ago. ..
This is the baby side of the room. . .
And this is for napping, sleeping, etc. . .
And things wouldn't be complete without some pet dander and fur. . .
(I truly think Tex knows something big is about to happen. And it involves babies. And babies taste good to Tex, apparently, because once he starts licking, he just can't stop. So that's a good thing. And as long as he can continue to sleep 20 hours a day, I don't think he'll mind an overhaul in the routine. )
Those of you who know me know that this is the extent of my decorating skills. It's functional and it sort of matches and that's all that matters because it will be at least two years before KidZilla can start advising me on home decor. Unless he or she is unusually gifted. Which might happen, too.
The nice part about the baby's room is that we each have items from our childhood in the room. The quilt rack and one of the quilts was from my room. There are some cross-stitch panels that hung in my DH's room from when he was a child. And the quilt at the foot of the bed is his quilt as well. Yeah, I know, you all will comment that we will clear out anything remotely heirloom within moments of the first projectile spitup or poopsplosion. I'm sure you can "I told you so" then. . .
But enough about that. . .I just wanted to post *something* today and there you have it.

The baby's room looks great.
Now that the dust has settled, aren't you glad you're having the baby at home (I don't mean home birth, I mean Houston)
Karmyn sent the baby's cap home from the hospital for the dogs to sniff before she and the baby came home.
That way the dogs knew its smell - and we're "expecting" it, too!!!!
You know I want a bigger house, but I don't think Greg would go for a longer commute! The room looks great and I can't wait to meet KidZilla. The countdown is on.
I LOVE it!!! So sweet! So pretty!!
Hey, dogs are people, too!
Dear sabrina. Bubba room looks very nicely decorated - can we see any of your wonderful knitting in the photos?
What a lovely room, I love that you have things from your childhood there as well.
WT: Did you say dust? Let me get to nesting and wipe it all away. . .
Pamela: Tex's nickname is "Nana" from Peter Pan. Once we teach him to dial 911, he's going to be a great babysitter
Stiggs: I still think you should move in!
Stephanie: Blanco and Tex have more personality than I do. Of course, they are people!
LMM: Unfortunately, the Texas heat make even looking at my knitting all itchy and hot. Perhaps in a few months I'll have it on display. .
Beccy: Howdy! Thank you so much!
